Lürssen Lifestyle Magazine

A curated series of features, first published in FRIEDA, and have been selected especially for you. Find yourself a comfortable spot aboard your yacht or at home, and immerse yourself in these inspiring stories.
FRIEDA takes its name from, and pays tribute to, the visionary Frieda Lürssen. In 1932, Frieda assumed all responsibility for the yard and led the company with passion and strategic foresight. She was one of the first women to manage a shipyard, and her values continue to shape and define Lürssen today.

Bespoke by design

Lürssen shows that building a bespoke superyacht is not an uncertain gamble, but rather a carefully managed creative process that brings the owner’s vision to life. The end product is not just a yacht; it is a personal way of life that has been consciously crafted and controlled down to the last detail. It is designed “not by chance, but by design”.

Windows of opportunity

Glass is a decisive factor in superyacht construction. It’s about creating spectacular, frameless designs, from large panoramic windows to underwater views.
This uninterrupted connection to the sea is only possible through remarkable engineering, which demonstrates how the shipyard is pushing the boundaries of design, technology and feasibility.

Owners Interview

A young man arrives in the US with only $500 to his name. Starting out as a dishwasher, he built a billion-dollar empire through technical innovation and a willingness to take risks.
Yet it is only whilst on a yacht that he realises that true success is not measured by wealth. Success is the freedom to shape one's own life.”

Who is Frieda?

In 1932, Frieda Lürssen assumed the management of the Lürssen shipyard and its 200 employees. She was a visionary and led the company with strength, pride, and a quietly revolutionary spirit. This is her story.
