THE LOCAL RESIDENTIAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME – INTERACTION
The Lürssen Foundation is establishing an Innovation Hub in Rijeka to create a collaborative environment where startups, spin-offs, research groups, and student teams can develop and advance maritime innovation projects.
From late April 2026, selected Fellows will receive open access to mentorship, knowledge resources, and professional expertise. The one-year programme supports projects pursued individually or collaboratively.
Applications for the Local Residential Fellowship Programme open on 1 March 2026.
INNOVATION MEETS COOPERATION
The Lürssen Foundation Innovation Hub is built to address pressing sustainability and technological challenges facing the maritime industry. Projects across this field are welcome.
Selected startups, research groups, and student teams will work alongside leading researchers and experienced entrepreneurs, joining a growing network of maritime innovators across Europe. Participants gain access to the research infrastructure of the Centre of Excellence MARBLE in Rijeka, Zagreb, and Šibenik, as well as to Lürssen research and engineering centres in Croatia and Germany.
The programme is based in Rijeka, Croatia, at the Terminal building. Designed as a dynamic innovation hub, it brings together students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to collaborate on maritime technology and sustainable development.
