Rising Sun is a 138 metre luxury motor yacht. She was built by Lurssen in 2004 and was designed by the late and legendary Jon Bannenberg whom Lurssen did not only build the first large yacht with but also this, his last project. The most outstanding characteristic of Rising Sun are the large window panels, the planning of which prompted a worldwide material search. The specially constructed glass panels were coated with a particular heat-insulating foil allowing the required energy for air-conditioning to be lowered significantly and thereby reducing emissions substantially. Rising Sun has also been equipped with customised soot particle filters to clean exhaust fumes efficiently. She is powered by of 12230 hp engines allowing her reach a maximum speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 26 knots.
