The vision for BLUEMINANCE was to marry grace with simplicity while infusing a touch of futurism, to create a yacht that transcends conventional standards. BLUEMINANCE is avant-garde with bold, clean exterior lines that are both artistic and functional. The concept combines the tranquillity of the ocean with the allure of luminance The division between the interior and exterior spaces has been kept to a minimum. Glass has been used extensively, giving an al fresco illusion from nearly all social areas onboard. The exterior lines are minimalistic and the bulwarks cut low, ensuring panoramic vistas from all decks. The sun deck has a stunning observational lounge, seamlessly integrated with an outdoor lounge and bar. The upper deck offers a large lounge area, while the protected main deck aft is designed to maximise the dining experience. The interior design is chic and minimalist. The owner's cabin, meticulously crafted on the top deck, offers unparalleled luxury with expansive windows framing horizon views. BLUEMINANCE underscores relaxation and a connection with nature. To maximise this experience, the large beach club features hydraulic wings that open port and starboard, providing an astounding amount of space at the water level. At the heart of the beach club is a swimming pool, which doubles as storage for a rescue boat during navigation. Meet Pradipta Hakim
What drew you to yacht design?
I became truly passionate about yacht design during my naval architecture studies. Fast boats particularly interested me and I even made my own RC boat. This was my first experience with 3D modelling and yacht design. My passion for smaller boats quickly grew into one for larger yachts.
Which designers inspire your craft?
My early inspiration was taken from Princess Yachts; I was captivated by the British shipyard’s portfolio of yachts. In my recent designs, I have taken inspiration from the elegance and innovation of yachts like AHPO. The sleek lines, sophisticated interiors, and cutting-edge technology showcased in such yachts captured my imagination and influenced my approach to design.
How would you like to see yacht design evolve?
I imagine future yacht designs to blend sleek aesthetics with eco-friendly features. Cool, chic styling, with innovative high-tech materials that are conservationist by nature. The deck areas will be spacious and the interiors modern, all carefully designed for maximum comfort and luxury. Just as it is today, the future of yacht design will be about creating yachts that make sailing an unforgettable experience, where every detail is just right.
That is the exciting future I see for yacht design – stylish, sustainable, and thrilling.
